As an 'Act on NCD' participant you will be trained to become a health conscious community engager in the area of NCDs for personal and community well being.
This course covers broad aspects of India public health problems of tobacco use, promotion and helps you to identify ways to implement tobacco control policies. You will become proficient in areas not just related to tobacco control, but also practice the art of peer learning and support. There will be 3 levels of capacity building starting with ‘Foundational’, ‘Advanced’ and ‘Expert’. From each of this level the learner will move from being a ‘Peer educator’ to ‘Peer supporter’ to ‘Peer leader’ respectively.
Harmful alcohol use in early adolescence can lead to adult alcohol abuse and dependence and a greater risk of severe psychiatric and other consequences.
We are working with schools, parents and the community to build an understanding of the short- and long-term risks of alcohol consumption in youth, whilst also aiming to prevent underage sales through retailers.
